– Hands, skin, elephants, the sun during sunset, the sun when it’s white, the sea, the open roads and the open horizons, airplanes, the silence of sleep, wild music, dogs, the blue color, New York, the land where I was born- Athens, roses before they bloom, childhood as a place, drums, tree bodies, ballet, liquid pigments, poetry and words and hand-lettering, the sound of pencils when I am writing, kisses, darkness and the female neck. –
May inspiration and updates on my canvas on tumblr. Come over and say hi!
Samantha’s grace, ease and charm best personify what I feel are the feminine qualities I am drawn into- the essence of poetic, strong women. I am currently editing a short film we did together- all of it is black and white, grainy, with the andante piano of Shostakovich.
I drew inspiration from this film by Arber Sefa, whose pace is stunning. I also had this gem in mind, but we were missing the white parrot.
Yesterday, we went to see and film Ryan’s new work at the Frieze Art Fair in New York‘s Randall’s island. Above, you can see a couple of the fresh artworks exhibited at the Team Gallery’s welcoming booth.
Some changes on the website portfolio coming up this week; I’ve added new ‘overview’ pages and I am currently changing the main galleries too -all filled with images from my new body of work. Happy to show them to you! By Friday everything will be launched, so check back soon for complete previews of the photographs and films.
Life Adjustment Center, Inc. is family, happiness, wilderness, love.
Next is, Frank, Strange and moi, laughing at Marc who jumps around with the cat’s toy and the camera to take our picture.
More to follow !
I can’t say much yet, but lately I have been working on the art direction of a very exciting newborn project. The diptych above, which stands out from the very initial moodboards that I am preparing at the moment, is only a little hint!
A photograph from my new body of work. It’s from the day I filmed Ryan’s ‘Blue Falling’ billboard going up on the Highline- looking at the sun that’s coming up to light the city, at 5.45am by the Hudson.
Oh, and a bit of my handwriting too.
A couple of portraits of Maria, from our studio session last week.
This photograph of Emma is part of my new body of work. The images I am currently working on feel as if they are bringing together all the things I carry within me from growing up in the brightness of Greece and the things I learn from working in this Life Adjustment Center that NYC and Ryan’s studio is for me. It’s been a first circle, a personal wild ride, and hopefully that’s just the beginning. I want to show you. I will, soon.
